The Old Mainstreet Theater

Chapter 1:

The gang was trading goodies out of their lunch boxes

with each other. When Nicky Birdy walked over to their

table and asked them

"Hi guys, would you like to buy some chewy bars for

two bucks each. All the money will help restore

the old theater on Main Street."

It's cool that the town donated the theater

to the school's drama club. So, they can restore it into

a playhouse." Cookie smiled. As she handed Nicky her two

dollars

"It's like a dream come true. I can't wait until it's

done and we can start working on some cool plays."

Nicky happily answered

"I'm sure, is it true? That Ms. Goldfish, already got an idea

for your first play?" Daisy Penguin asked her

"I'm not sure. But I also heard some rumors that she found

an old script hidden inside an old movie reel.

"While cleaning out one of the screening rooms, that got her

really excited." Nicky began

"Wow, do you know what the script is about?" Cookie asked

"Like I said, it's only rumors. But supposal it's a who-done-it

mystery with so many twists and turns." That will

keep you guessing until the very end." Nicky answered

"Well, hopefully, the rumors are true." Vicky Dragonfly smiled

Nicky also smiled, "You and me both."

"But besides fundraising, we're also looking for volunteers

to help out with the cleaning and repairs. You guys

wouldn't be interested, would you?" She added

"Sure, when can we start?" Tommy Cub asked

Chapter 2:

The next afternoon, the gang headed out for the old

theater

"Wow, I forgot how creepy looking this place was. I

bet it's haunted." Sammy Turtle began

Seriously, dude, for the billionth time. Just because a

place looks creepy doesn't mean that it's haunted."

Tommy scowled at him

"Maybe, I heard the reason this place closed down was

because the owner. Couldn't keep up with the payments after

the Three Crown Theater opened." Plus, not many kids

go to the movies anymore.

They would rather rent or stream them online."

Daisy added

"Yeah, it's a shame. Since nothing beats movie popcorn!"

Cookie laughed

"I totally agree with that." A voice from behind also laughed

They turned around and noticed that Nicky was standing

behind them smiling

"Hey guys, I'm happy that you decided to come."

When they walked into the lobby, they were impressed by

how much work had been done already

"Oh wow, this place is starting to look awesome," Tommy said

"Thanks, we've been working hard trying to get it done.

Before the end of the school year." So, are you ready to go

to work? The rest of the crew are working inside the

screening rooms." Nicky told them

Shortly afterwards, they got to know the other

kids from the drama club

"I know Nicky would never tell you guys this. So, I feel it's

up to me to tell you all in why." This place really closed."

Lenny Lion began. "I just hope that it doesn't freak you out

to much that you all decide to quit."

He added laughing

"Whoa, we just found Sammy's long, long lost twin,"

Tommy whispered over to the others. Sammy gave him a

Dirty look, then asked Lenny

"So, you think it's haunted, too?"

"Nope, maybe cursed, but not haunted. Rumor has it that

the old owner was a drunk with some serious money troubles."

He was so in the hole that on the night he was going

to close the doors for good. He got not only so drunk but went

completely nutty and hung himself from the balcony."

Lenny answered him

What?

Chapter 3:

"They said he did it, hoping that would keep the doors

from closing. Since kids would want to come and see if

he'd haunt the place or not."

Lenny added

"Wow, Lenny,

I don't get how you believe that dumb

story." Nicky frowned

"It's not a dumb story, Nicky." Lenny began. And before he

could finish, the lights in the theater went off

"Oh, very funny, who turned off the lights?"

Nicky yelled. And before any of them could reply, the

lights came back on

"Now, that was weird." Daisy frowned once they walked

out of the room

"Not as weird as that," Lenny added as he pointed

towards the balcony

Hanging from it was a fake swinging dummy

"Nice, Lenny. If I were you, I'd take that down

before Ms. Goldfish sees it." Nicky smirked

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Nicky. But this wasn't

my doing, I was standing right next to you." When

the lights went off." Lenny shrugged

Chapter 4:

The next day, when they arrived at the theater, Nicky

came up to them. It was obvious that she was

very upset

"What's the matter?" Cookie asked her

"Ms. Goldfish found out what happened yesterday and

freaked out. And decided to put the whole project

on hold until she finds out who did it." I just wish Lenny

had just kept his mouth shut about all those

dumb stories." Nicky began

"Gee Nicky, I'm flattered that you think so highly of me

and believe my dumb stories. Have so much

power over what Ms. Goldfish does and thinks."

Lenny interrupted

"Sorry, Lenny, I'm just so upset. We've been working so

hard for what looks like nothing now." Nicky sighed

"Cheer up, Nicky, a little birdy just told me that our

awesome mayor's engaged with all the media attention

This project is receiving and how it's making the town

And his ego looks beyond amazing." That there's no way he'd

Ever have anything stop this from getting it done."

He laughed

Chapter 5:

Three days later, Vicky walked into their clubhouse

With the biggest smile on her face

"Wow, aren't we happy?" Cookie teased

"Beyond, since I think what's going on at the old theater."

She smiled

"You do? What?" Cookie asked

"Who cares what? Who?" Tommy added

"Last night I was telling my cousin about what was going

on. And she told me that Mr. Frogger, the old owner,

had a secret partner." Who was robbing him blind to pay off

his gambling debts. So, when the theater had no choice

but to close the doors for good." It was he who jumped

off the balcony." Vicky began

"Oh wow, how come we never heard about this?"

Cookie asked her

"I wondered the same thing also." Vicky smiled. "So, I

did a bit more research until I found out who the

secret partner was," Vicky replied

Who they wanted to know. Vicky's smile grew wider

before she answered

"His name was Alan Stones, and the reason none of this

was ever reported is." Because he was the mayor's younger

brother. Who, I'm guessing, probably made up all those

dumb stories about Mr. Frogger," And is donating the

building to the school so we'd never find out the truth

about what really happened."

"Whoa, Vicky, that sounds a bit far-fetched."

Cookie told her

"Maybe, but I guess there's only one way to find out

Why don't we just go and ask him?" Vicky shrugged

Chapter 6:

When they arrived at the theater, they found Nicky

and the town's mayor talking in the main lobby

"Good afternoon, kids, I was telling Nicky what a great

job you're all doing." Mayor Stones smiled

"Thanks, Mayor Stones, can I ask you a quick

question?" Vicky asked

"Sure," He answered

"Were you the one who made up those stories about

Mr. Frogger? When it was really your brother Alan, who

had a drinking, gambling problem." And jumped off the

balcony?"

For a moment, he looked like he was punched in the face

"Excuse me, I don't know what you're talking about?"

He muttered

"Oh really, then why does this article that I found

online? Reads that you do?"

It even has a picture of the two of you when

you were younger." Vicky frowned

"Fine, I'll admit part of me knew that this was a bad idea

I should've just ordered for this place to be torn down.

"Instead of going through all this foolishness."

Mayor Stones growled

"What!" Nicky cried out in shock

"For years, all my father spoke about was how this place

destroyed my dumb brother's life. How it was my job as

his older brother to protect him." What a joke!

"That's all I did was protect the little drunk that was until

that jerk Frogger. Had the nerve to try and blackmail me

by saying he'd expose all of Alan's troubles and how I

just covered them up, I laughed." Not only did I refuse

I told him that I'd turn it around, steal his theater away

from him, and then donate it and have the town love and

respect me more for doing so."

Mayor Stones began

"Whoa, so Vicky was right?" Tommy frowned." You did

all of this to keep your brother and his problems a big

secret?"

"Well, isn't she brilliant?" Mayor Stones snorted

"You really believe that this plan was going to work?"

Cookie asked him

"Of course, it's a great plan. Well, it was a great plan

until you nosy kids started sticking your noses into my

business." Which is a bad mistake. Who's going to believe

any of you?" Mayor Stone smirked

"Sorry, Mayor Stones, but I'm afraid that I've some bad

news for you." A voice from behind them interrupted

They turned to see that Ms. Goldfish was standing there

holding her cell phone. Mayor Stones was about to rush towards

her when two police officers walked inside the

theater

Shortly afterwards

"Wow, can you believe that just happened? If he wasn't

so out there, I'd feel sorry for him."

Nicky told them

"Not me, I can still hear him yelling from outside. How

we should be arrested for trying to blackmail the mayor."

Tommy smirked

Chapter 7:

A few weeks later, the theater had its grand opening

"Oh wow, I'm so nervous, it seems like the whole town

is out there. What if I go out there and fall off the stage

or something?" Nicky said after she peeked out the

curtains

"Stop worrying, you're going to be great.

I guess Mayor Stones, in all his plotting, forgot a

major rule in revenge." Vicky told her

What?

"That no matter how many rumors or lies you spread

You can't control what others are going to believe."

Vicky answered

"I just hope that he gets all the help that he needs. I've

to thank you guys, I don't think none of this would

be happening." If you didn't figure out what he was up to."

Nicky told her

"Thanks, but it was actually all of us who helped solve

this mystery." Vicky smiled

"Okay, you two, enough with the gloom and doom talk

Nicky, you're up in five." Lenny smiled

The Mystery Cruise

Chapter 1:

The gang was bouncing up and down with excitement

while waiting to board the Grand Haven cruise ship

"I can't believe that we're about to go on a week-long

cruise. To the Ice Island, it's like a dream come true."

I can't wait to explore all the caves that I read about."

Vicky Dragonfly was happily telling them. Before

any of the gang had a chance to answer her back,

Tommy Cub suddenly yelled out

"Oh shoot! I just remembered that I forgot to grab my

passport from my travel bag." I better go get it

before we board the ship."

"Why doesn't that surprise me? He'd forget his tail if it

wasn't attached to him." Daisy Penguin smirked

as she and the other girls watched Tommy and Sammy

Turtle runoff

Cookie laughed and then went to where Vicky was

standing and gave her a big friendly hug

"I can't believe it either. It was totally sweet of your

grandma to invite us to come with her."

"Yeah, I was surprised when she did. But I've a funny

feeling that she has some other reasons for

wanting us to join her." Vicky giggled

"Oh wow, like what?" Cookie asked her

"Don't know? When I tried asking her about it she only

laughed. And promised that we've nothing to worry

about. This is nothing more than a mystery-free

good old fashion fun vacation." Vicky shrugged

"Sweet." Cookie smiled

"What's sweet?" Sammy Turtled asked as he and Tommy

rejoined them

"We'll tell you later. We better go before the ship takes

off without us." Vicky joked

A few minutes later they boarded and made plans to

Meet with Vicky's grandma for dinner. When they heard

loud shouts coming from outside their door

"Something is dead-looking floating in the pool!"

"Oh great, there goes our mystery-free vacation."

Cookie thought to herself as she and the others rushed

over to see what was going on

Chapter 2:

"Wow, that was a pretty messed up prank. That swan

looked like it was floating upside down underwater."

Sammy told them once they were back inside their

cabin

"Totally, but what's sad. How did whoever did it mess up

the pool when they poured that red dye into the water."

Daisy frowned

"Well, if they meant it to be a prank. I don't believe it

was very funny I just hope that Professor Webster isn't

terribly upset. Once he hears about this, the poor dear

is already nervous as it is. Nana mumbled mostly to

herself

"Whoa, excuse me? But did you just say that Professor

Webster is on this ship?" Vicky suddenly cried out

"Yes, I was saving it as a surprise and introduce you at

dinner. Since I know how much you admire him." But

I guess this dumb little prank just ruined my

surprise, such a shame." Nana sighed

"No, it didn't Grandma! That's so cool!" Vicky began

"Umm, I hate to interrupt but who is Professor Webster?"

Tommy asked. Vicky laughed

"Professor Webster, besides being the most amazing

gemologist. He has traveled all around the world in search

of the most mysterious gems." His latest search was for

the monkey Stone, which is rumored to be both the most

beautiful and unluckiest stone in the world."

"How can a stone be unlucky?" Sammy frowned

"Many, many, years ago the stone belonged to a very

powerful king. Who placed a very powerful curse on it

when it was stolen from him. Since then whoever

owned the stone had nothing but bad luck."

Vicky explained

"Oh please, a cursed stone? They probably just made up

that story for whatever reason." Tommy smirked

"Don't know. Maybe, they did and maybe they didn't"

Vicky shrugged

"Well Tommy, I'm sure he'll be happy to answer all your

questions later on tonight at dinner." Nana smiled

Chapter 3:

Later that night during dinner the gang happily

listened as Professor Webster shared his tales about

the search for the monkey stone

"So, does the monkey stone look like a monkey?"

Sammy asked the professor laughing. The professor also

laughed before answering him back

"I'm afraid not my young friend. It's just a regular-looking

stone, although some believe if you look at it."

In a certain way, it does look like a monkey."

"What will you do with it? When you do find the

stone." Cookie asked him

The Professor smiled.

"I plan to donate it to the Ice Island

of the Fine Arts. Though my grandson Fred."

"Oh, I didn't know your grandson was traveling with

you.

Why didn't he join us this evening?" Nana interrupted

"He's not very happy with me at the moment. And

refuses to leave our cabin, he believes that I should

sell the stone." And doesn't understand why

I firmly believe that all my discoveries should be shared

with the world. And not just be locked up in

some closet or vault." The Professor explained. Nana

patted his back and smiled

"I agree with you. I'm so sorry that he feels

that way, hopefully he'll change his mind."

"Umm, I'm a bit confused. Are you still looking

for the monkey stone? Or did you already find it?"

Cookie asked him. The Professor busted out laughing

"I'm so sorry little one, let me put it this way."

He pulled out a tiny steel box from his jacket and

placed it on top of the table

"Young ones! I happily present to you the famous

monkey stone!"

But when he opened the box inside was what looked

like a cheap plastic glass stone. With a monkey

face painted on it

Chapter 4:

"What is the meaning of this?" My precious stone

has been stolen! We must call the police right away!"

Professor Webster yelled

"Now, Webster, I'm sure that there's some

reasonable explanation." Nana began

"No, no! It has been stolen I'm telling you. I should've

listened to Fred, he warned me that if I didn't

sell it before coming out here." Something like this

would happen!"

"I strongly hope that's not the case. Why don't we

just go back to your cabin and speak with your

grandson." Nana calmly answered

The next morning during breakfast the gang was

discussing what happened the night better

"This is awful." Vicky sobbed as she sat on the bed

"What's awful?" Cookie asked

"I just came from Nana's room. She told me that Fred,

had a major fit when he heard what happened."

She began. " Not only did he threaten to sue the ship for

what happened. But he even dared to accuse my grandma

of stealing it." She added

"Wow, sorry Vicky that's awful. I wish that there was a

way that we can prove your grandma would never

do a dumb thing like that." Cookie told her

"I think I know of a way?" Tommy smiled

"Tommy, I really don't think this is such a great idea.

What if we get caught? Sammy whispered over to him

Once they sneaked inside Professor Webster's cabin

"Don't start freaking dude, we'll just take a quick look

around and leave," Tommy whispered back

A few minutes later they returned to their cabin

"Well, that was a big waste of time. The only thing we

found was a few pennies." Sammy sighed

"Thanks, for rubbing it in," Tommy growled

"Stop picking on him, he's right we didn't find anything.

Hopefully whoever did it didn't throw the stone overboard."

Daisy scowled him

"Why would they do something stupid like that?

Tommy frowned

"Don't know? Maybe, they got scared or nervous of  getting

caught." Daisy shrugged

"This isn't helping us any. We're just getting on

each other's nerves let's go for a walk or something.

To clear our heads." Cookie suggested

Chapter 5:

They were walking around the main deck when they

bumped into Fred

"Oh hi, we're sorry about what happened. Are there

any updates on how the investigation is going?"

Daisy asked him

"No, I can't believe my grandfather was so careless. If

he just would've listened to me and sold the dumb thing

before we came on this cruise." I might be enjoying

myself instead of listening to him cry about his stupid

stone. Now, if you kids would excuse me, I've more

important things to do than to continue speaking about

my careless grandfather's problem." Fred snorted

"Wow, he's a real jerk." Tommy whistled once Fred left

"He's, makes you wonder." Daisy began

"If he didn't have something to do with it." Vicky finished

for her

"Why do you think that?" Sammy asked

"Just a hunch. I also think that we should maybe

search their cabins again." She added

Later that afternoon the gang knocked on the Professor's

cabin. To ensure the cabin was empty, they

were about to open the door and go in. When a voice

yelled out to them

"What do you kids think you're doing? Vicky, you

weren't about to go into the Professor's cabin when

he wasn't there." Were you?"

Her grandma asked her frowning

"Sorry Nana, we weren't going to take anything. Just

take a quick look around and check if there were

any clues that would prove." You didn't have anything

to do with the missing stone." Vicky quickly explained

"That's very sweet of you kids, but I don't think

sneaking inside their cabin when they're not there

would help any." It'd probably make matters worst

let's go back to my cabin and continue this conversation."

Nana stated

Once they were back to her cabin the gang took turns

explaining the whole story. Of what they believed

happened

"That's a very interesting story. And I truly appreciate

all your efforts in trying to help." Let's just hope

for the Professor's sake that Fred doesn't have anything

to do with this." Nana began." But I believe we should

let the police investigate the case and deal with Fred,

from now on." She added

The next morning the gang was going to breakfast

when Fred stopped them

"I may not have any proof, but I've got a strong feeling that

you kids. Were the reason that both my grandfather and

the captain." Now believe that I may have something to do

with the disappearance of my grandfather's stone."

Fred snorted. None of the gang answered him

"All of your silence says it all. But let me give you nosey

kids some friendly advice." The next time any of you

accuse me of anything make sure that you can prove it."

He then stormed off before any of them had a chance to reply

"Don't worry the next time we will!"  Vicky yelled after him

"And I think I know how." Cookie added

Chapter 6:

An hour later they were all squeezed inside the

Professor's cabin. When Fred walked in

"What's going on here? Why are you in here?"

He demanded

"Well Fred, the captain had a break in the case and has

requested that their security team. Take a look around

our cabin, especially what's inside your book bag

that's underneath your bunk." His grandfather answered

"I see. Well grandfather, if you remember they already

searched our cabin and found nothing." So, sorry

I refuse to be any part of this ridiculous search.

Fred began

"That's enough Fredrick, now be quiet. And let them do

their jobs." His grandfather strongly interrupted. Fred

gave the gang you'll pay for this look as he grabbed his

bag from underneath his bunk and threw it at the

captain

"Take it!" He growled

"There's nothing in here. But a few books and a

small plastic bag full of colorful stones."

The captain informed them

"May I see those?" Fred's grandfather asked the

captain. He began looking through the bag but stopped

halfway. Taking a deep breath he reached inside the bag

and pulled out the monkey stone

Chapter 7:

"Oh Fred, how could you do this?"

His grandfather groaned

"Oh shut up! And give that back!" Fred growled

as he yanked the bag out of his grandfather's paw

and then ran out of the cabin.

They chased him to the upper deck

"Go away! If any of you come any closer I swear

I'll throw this bag overboard." He yelled

"Fred, please calm down. Why don't we just go back

to our cabin and discuss this?" His grandfather begged

"Don't make me laugh grandfather, you must think I'm

dumb or something. We all know that as soon as I do

the captain and his goons will arrest me." Now back

off!" Fred cried

"That's not true Fred," And before his grandfather could

finish a loud siren rang out scaring Fred enough to

have him lose his balance

"Now!" Cookie cried out as she and the rest of the gang

rushed him

Chapter 8:

Minutes later Nana informed the gang that the captain

ordered Fred to stay inside his cabin until they dock

and just to make sure he does. There'll be a security

guard standing outside his door

"What about the professor does he have to stay in the

cabin too?" Tommy asked her

"No, Professor Webster's very upset and confused by

Fred's action. He's going to stay in another cabin while

he tries to make sense of what happened."

Nana added

"So grandma, why do you think he did it?"

Vicky asked her

"Sorry Vicky, only Fred can answer that. But I've learned

that he has a very serious gambling problem."

Maybe, he believed that if he sold the stone the money

from it would bail him out. From his gambling debts."

Nana shrugged. "Now, even though I'm very proud of you

kids for helping solve this mystery. What you did after

that siren went off which was kind of strange how it

did." Jumping on top of Fred, was dangerous one of you

could've been hurt. So, please don't ever do that again."

She added

"It wasn't strange." Tommy smiled as he took out his cell

phone and pressed a button causing a loud siren to

ring out

"Again very impressive Tommy, but I need you to

promise me you'll never do that again."

Now, we should be reaching Ice Island in a few days

until then. Let's just enjoy the rest of the trip and

remember." Nana stated

"No more solving mysteries on our non-free mystery

vacation!" The gang cried out together laughing

The Mysteries Text

Chapter 1:

After staring at their phones in complete silence for

a few minutes. Tommy Cub frowned as he read the text

on his phone out loud then asked

"Okay, very funny which of you unfunny jokers? Just

sent this dumb text?"

"Really Tommy, if we've been with you this whole time

how could any of us send it? Without you noticing."

Sammy Turtle smirked

"Okay, okay, then whoever did it. Sent it as some kind

of joke." Tommy began

"What kind of joke dares you to go to Bay Road, and

investigate some lighthouse. That I'm sure none of us

knew was even out there in the first place."

Daisy Penguin frowned. "Besides I don't feel comfortable

checking out any place. Without knowing who we're

dealing with." She added

"I was thinking the same thing too. But I also thought

maybe they want to test us to see if we know

what we're doing." Cookie also added

"Maybe, but I still would feel better knowing who it is

instead of getting some creepy text." The only thing

out there I know of is some abandoned old

warehouses." Vicky Dragonfly began

"Which are rumored to be haunted." Sammy interrupted

"Can we please stop with places being haunted all the

time?

Haven't we learned anything from all the cases we've

already been on? That there's no such thing I'm telling

you guys, this is some kind of joke nothing more."

Tommy sighed

Chapter 2:

A few days later the gang was still curious about who

had sent them that strange text and why. But what

really had them curious was wondering what kind of

mystery was waiting for them. Once they went out there

Later that day Vicky was trying to pay attention to what

Honey Kitten was telling them about her new movie

on urban legends that she was making. But her mind kept

wandering off

"Earth to Vicky, come in Vicky!" Honey cried out as she

waved her paw in front of Vicky's face

"Oh sorry, I guess I was just."

"Spacing out? I know since I've asked you what

you thought about my new movie." For the last

minute now." Honey finished for her. They just stared at

each other for a second before they both started

cracking up at the same time

"So, tell me am I really that boring," Honey added trying

to sound serious

"No." Vicky then quickly told her all about the strange

text that they had received

"Oh wow,

how weird. And you guys have no idea who sent

it?" Honey asked

"I keep telling them that's probably just a joke,"

Tommy said

"Tommy, I really don't think so. If it were I would've

been able to trace the sender by now." I've even asked a

friend of mine from my computer class. And not

even he could figure it out." Vicky answered him

"So, are you guys going out there and check it out? Or

let it go as a joke like Tommy said." Honey asked them

"Well, if we left it up to Sammy, we'd just leave it."

Daisy joked

Hey!

Daisy walked over to him and gave Sammy a big hug

"You know that I was only teasing. But if we're going

to go out there we should do it soon."

"Cool, can I come with you guys? Since you all know

just how much I love a good mystery." Honey smiled

"Sure, but I'm getting a funny feeling that this mystery.

Just changed from was it just a joke? To I can't wait to

see what's going to happen next." Cookie also smiled

Chapter 3:

The next morning the gang's excitement and curiosity

grew. As they boarded the ferry heading out to Bay Road

Soon what looked like a maze of old warehouses came into

View

"Oh wow, I didn't expect this place to be so big. It's just a

big maze of empty warehouses!" Daisy cried out

"It is. It's a shame how they just let it go but if you don't

mind in me asking." Why are you kids coming out here?

This isn't a place you should be hanging out in."

The ferry assistant asked them frowning

"Oh,

I'm making a document on our town's abandoned buildings

and folk tales. We're just going to take a few pictures

then leave." Honey explained. The assistant gave her a

strange look before he answered her back

"I see

Well, stay out of trouble, and don't let the toy goons

spook ya!" He then started laughing hysterically as he

walked away

"Well, that dude wasn't weird at all," Tommy said as he

and the others watched him go. Once they got off the

ferry and started walking around Sammy asked

"Okay, where to now?"

"Sammy, something is sticking to the bottom of

your sneaker," Tommy told him. Sammy bent down

and picked up the piece of paper then read it

out loud:

THE ANSWER YOU SEEK IS

GUARDED BY THE TALL LIGHT

Chapter 4:

"What does that mean?" He frowned. None of them

answered they seemed to be lost in their deep

thoughts

"Can I see it?" Vicky asked him breaking the silence

between them. She slowly reread the note

"There's some kind of drawing on here that looks."

She began

"That looks like we just found our mysterious lighthouse."

Cookie finished for her smiling

What

Cookie pointed to a big old building that was hidden

in the far corner hidden behind some overgrown bushes

"So, what are we waiting for? Let's check out what

surprises are hidden for us inside!" Tommy laughed. Before

heading towards it Cookie was about to go inside when

something caught her eye

"Hey Cookie, you coming?" Daisy asked her

"Yeah, I just thought I saw something ducking behind

bushes. I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me."

Cookie shrugged

When they walked inside and adjusted their eyes

to the dim lights. They were in surprised awe just

staring at shelves upon shelves filled with toys,

board games, and video games

"Whoa,

this place is beyond awesome." Tommy cried out

Cookie was about to answer him when a plush toy bear

suddenly popped out of the box. With some other toys

who had very nervous looks on their faces

"Oh, you did it now! You better hope that Queen Hippo

and her goons don't find you cause if they do."

They're going to rip out your battery packs or worse."

The toy bear nervously told them

The gang just stared at each other with frightened looks

before they took off running back to where. They

just came from Sammy, was about to open the door when

the toy bear told him

"I wouldn't open that door if I were you. You guys, don't

know if Queen Hippo set a trap." The only

way you'll get out of here now is to turn off her

battery pack before she gets yours."

"Huh? We don't know what you're talking about?"

What are battery packs? And how are you alive?"

Sammy frowned

"Yeah, and why should we trust you? How do we know

that you didn't set a trap?" Tommy added

"I'd never do that. This used to be a happy safe place to

live. That was until Queen Hippo and her goons moved

in." And started bossing all of us around, threatening us

to rip out our battery pack if we didn't do what they say."

It's gotten so bad that some of the baby toys are so scared

of them. That they refuse to come out of their boxes."

The toy bear explained

"That's awful toy or no toy, I hate it when others think

That they can just bully others around."

Cookie snorted

"Oh,

she's more than a bully. She's evil she doesn't know

that I know. But a couple of days ago I overheard her

telling her goons to start getting ready." He continued

Ready for what?

Chapter 5:

The toy bear glanced around to make sure that none of

her goons were listening

"Her plan is that as soon as either she or one of her

goons are brought. To make sure they cause all sorts of

problems that they'd be blamed and punished."

Since there was no way that their parents would ever

believe that a toy caused all the trouble."

"That is evil. I can't believe she'd want to do something

like that. We've to do something to stop her before she ruins

every kid's life out there." Cookie cried out

"Agreed. But to do that one of you needs to destroy her

battery pack and shut her off forever."

The toy bear began. And before he could finish an angry

voice yelled out

"They're over there!"

"Go, run! I'll hold them back as much as I can!"

The toy bear yelled

The gang took off running in search of the hippo's house box

After a few minutes, Daisy cried out

"I think I found it!" She was about to open it when a

voice from next to her interrupted

"You'll never find it there."

Frowning Daisy asked the doll

"How do you know what we're looking for?"

"Oh, word gets around. But don't worry I'm on your side

I'd love to see bossy fancy pants finally get what she

and goofy deserve." The doll snorted

"Thanks, you wouldn't know where we can find it?

Would you?" Daisy shrugged

"Sure, she doesn't think that we know. But if you find

her pool house it's hidden inside the blue float."

That's typed at the deep end of her pool."

The doll explained

"Thanks again." Daisy smiled before she and the others

ran off. A few minutes later she found it

"Okay, got it."

But before she could finish a voice yelled

"Get them!"

Chapter 6:

Once more they took off running towards the front door

Halfway there they ran straight into the ferry assistant

knocking him hard to the floor

"What do you think you kids are doing?'

He asked them once he got back up rubbing the back

of his head

"Sorry, we didn't mean to run into you. What are you

doing here?" Tommy asked him

"I was looking for you kids. I knew you were lying when

you said that you were here only to take a few pictures."

He began

"Mister, I hate to interrupt and this is going to sound

crazy. But this place is full of toys that are alive!

"Not only are they alive but some are trying to hurt us

and hurt any kid who buys them." So, we've to shut off

the Queen Hippo and her goons' battery pack. Before

they do hurt us." Tommy cried

The ferry assistant just stared at him as if he were nuts

"I see, then what are we waiting for? Follow me, I

think I can help you with that."

Soon afterwards the lights suddenly flicked off and on

"What just happened?" Vicky asked once the lights came

back on

"Don't know. Hopefully, it worked." The toy bear sighed

Oh no!" Sammy cried

Chapter 7:

The ferry assistant patted Sammy on top of his head

then laughed

"I'm afraid I must let you all in a little secret. I'm

the one who sent you kids those texts." He began

What? Why? They all cried out at the same time

The ferry assistant held up his paw and laughed even

harder

"Please, let me explain my name is Cat Foxtail, and

recently brought Bay Road.

And plan to turn it into the best and biggest gaming

playland in all of Rocky Shores." Each warehouse will

be a game theme room." He explained

"Umm, that sounds great and all. But what does that

have to do with why you sent us those texts? To come

out here?" Tommy frowned

"Well, young cub like I said in the text before I

built anything I needed the best detectives in Rocky

Shores. To be the first in testing out a new video game

that I've been working on." The name of it is

Toy Escape, and the plot of the game is what happens

when a group of kids get locked up inside a warehouse."

In where the toys come alive some friendly and some

not so friendly. And have to escape before Queen Hippo

and her goons capture them then it'd be game over."

Cat answered

"Cool, so is the toy bear part of the game?"

Sammy asked him

"Yes, our little buddy here is not only part of it. He's

your guide during your gameplay. If you get stuck or

get in trouble while playing it, he'll do everything in

his power to help you." So, I'm dying to know how did

you guys like playing it?" He asked them smiling

"Are you kidding? It was awesome! I can't wait to play

it again." Tommy cried out happily. And before Cat had

a chance to reply a group of evil giggles floated through

the room and smirked

"Oh yes, Tommy, please do play it again soon. But

just know that if you do neither you nor your friends

will ever make it out again!"

Cookie's Bad Day

Chapter 1:

It all started on a Saturday afternoon when I was walking

back home. After playing video games over

my friend Vicky Dragonfly's house.

I almost reached my front porch when I noticed a

mysterious metal box. That was half buried next to a big

maple tree beside my house. I walked over

to it and dug it out

minutes later I slowly opened it. Inside the box was

a beautiful silver collar with a note next to it

which read:

Warning:

Who dares to wear this collar

you'll only have bad luck for the rest of

your life

Frowning I took the collar out and looked at it

closely. Before putting it on I thought to myself

This is probably some kind of joke. There's no way

that such a beautiful collar like this would

cause any kind of bad luck

I wasn't even inside for five minutes when my mom

stormed out of the kitchen and yelled

"Cookie, where have you been? You should've been

home an hour ago."

"Sorry, Mom, Vicky and I started playing video games

and lost track of time," I answered

"That's no excuse, young lady." my mom frowned

"Now go and clean your room. I'll call you when dinner's

ready."

"Aww Mom, do I've to?" I whined

"Don't aww mom, me. Now go!" My mom snorted

Chapter 2:

From that day my luck turned from bad to worse

not only was my mom still mad at me. But the

next day I forgot to study for my math quiz

the night before and barely passed it. But I also forgot

that Miss Dragon, one of my favorite actresses was coming

to my school that afternoon. To speak on the

importance of reading

"Hey, where have you been? my friend Daisy Penguin

asked me. As I met her by the school gym double-door

"I've been waiting for you for more than ten minutes."

"Don't ask," I mumbled. As we walked inside the gym

and even though it was almost full. We managed to find

two seats in the front row next to the door

then after what seemed like Miss Dragon finally walked

through the doors

Kids started clapping and yelling out her name

including myself. In fact was so excited that I

forgot that I put my water bowl down next to me

and accidentally knocked it over with my paw. A

moment later all the kids inside the gym gasped

When they saw that Miss Dragon, slipped on the wet floor

and fell right on top of me

"Oww, my ankle!" She cried out horrified

Her ankle? What about my paw? Believe me, she wasn't

as light as she appeared to be

Miss Fisher and some of the other teachers rushed

over to Miss Dragon, who was still crying

about her stupid ankle. None of them even bothered

to ask me if I was okay. All they cared about was her

precious ankle

A few minutes later Miss Fisher came back inside the

gym and informed us that Miss Dragon had a real

bad sprain and wouldn't be able to speak with us

today

"Oh nice going Cookie, you just had to spill your water

bowl. Didn't you?" Daisy scowled at me once we

were outside

"Hey, it was an accident. And how bad of a sprain could

it be? When she landed on top of me and not

the floor?" I snapped

"Yeah, that part was pretty funny. You should've

seen the look on your face." When she landed on

you it was hysterical." Daisy giggled. "Well, see you

later I promised Vicky, that I'd help her. With

her science project." She added

"Gee, what a pal," I smirked to myself

Chapter 3:

When I got home my paw began to swell up like

a balloon. And if that wasn't bad enough a few

minutes later. It started to go numb from all the

ice pack that my mom kept putting on it

Later that night as I lay in my bed waiting for

the feeling in my paw to return. I knew that I

had to return the collar. So, I got up super early the

next morning. And sneaked outside before my mom

noticed that I was gone and went straight to the

maple tree. And started digging for the box

which was missing

"Oh, great now what I'm going to do?" I sighed

I was about to go back in when I noticed a note

lying on the ground. Which read:

If you want your bad luck to change

you need to return the collar inside the

metal box. And rebury it where you found it

"Right? And how am I going to do that?"

If I don't know where to find the stupid thing."

I started to crumple up the paper when something

caught my eye. On the back of it was a drawing of my

bedroom

"Now that's weird." I thought to myself as I stared at

the drawing again and noticed the missing metal box

was sitting on top of my toy chest inside my room

Feeling both nervous and confused I ran inside

and just like the drawing showed

there it was. And though it was driving me crazy how

it got there. I was just so happy that I found it

I quickly took off the collar and placed it inside the

box. I was about to go back outside and return it

when my mom walked into my room

"Oh good you're up. Well, we'll be leaving in a

few minutes." She smiled

"Leaving? Leaving where?" I frowned

"I promised Ms. Tiger, that I'd help her with the

school bake sale." She answered

"Aww Mom, do I really have to go? Can I just

stay home?" I whined

"Sure, sweetie."

"I can? Really?" Wow, thanks." I began

"Yes, you can. in about ten years from now move

your little tail. And start getting ready, we don't

want to be late." My mom laughed

"I really hate when she does that." I frowned to

myself once she left my room

Chapter 4:

The next day I guess that my mom noticed that

there was something wrong. Because when I

got home from book club she had my favorite

snacks waiting for me

"Cookie, you look a little down. Is there something

bothering you?" She smiled

And after I finished the last bite of my meaty

bones. I told her the whole story

"And did you return it?" She asked after I finished

"Yeah, right after we got home from the bake sale,"

I told her

"I see. Well, I sure hope that I never find something

like that." Her mom shrugged

"Trust me, I learned my lesson the next time I find

something that doesn't belong to me." I'm going

to leave it just where I found it."

Cookie told her

"I'm glad to hear you say that Cookie. Because I've

to tell you a little secret." My mom began

What

"It was me. I'm the one who left you the box."

My mom answered

"What?" Why?" I cried out

"Well, remember last week when I told you not to

play with my stuff? Without asking me first

what happened?" My mom asked me

"I lost one of your favorite rings. Then lied to you

about it but you grounded me for it." Cookie mumbled

"I know. But you still didn't

learn your lesson even with me grounding you."

Did it?" My mom frowned. "So, I figured

if you went through a bit of hard times. You'd finally

understand or hopefully will." What do you say am I

forgiven?" She added smiling

For a minute I was so upset that she had me go

through all this. But even though she drives me crazy

and acts weird and annoying sometimes. She does mean

well and I'm sure she thinks the same of me

I went up to her and gave her the biggest hug and

smiled before I answered her back

"Of course I do! You're the best mom in the whole wide

world!"

The Pie Contest

Chapter 1:

On a Friday afternoon Cookie and two of her

best friends Daisy Penguin and Vicky Dragonfly

were sunbathing inside Cookie's backyard

"It's so hot out here even your pool looks like it's

wishing. That it had a pool to jump into."

Vicky laughed

"Oh wow, either you've been sitting out in the

sun too long. Or hanging out with Tommy too long

'cause your jokes are getting just as lame as

his!" Daisy also laughed

They were still giggling and goofing with each

other. When Tommy Cub and Sammy Turtle

walked into her backyard

"Hi guys, what's up?" Cookie asked them

"We just got a new case." Sammy smiled

"That's great. It's been a while since the last one

I was starting to think that kids around here

forgot that we started a detective club." So, what's

this one about?" Vicky asked

"Some bonehead stole Miss Horse's pumpkin pie

that she baked for the annual bake-off. This weekend

she hired us to find out who did it and why?"

Tommy answered her

"Oh wow, who'd do something as stupid as to

steal her pie?" Daisy frowned

"Duh, that's why she hired us to find out,"

Tommy smirked

"Okay, let's not fight. So, what do we know about

the case so far?" Vicky asked

"Well, according to Miss Horse, she placed her pie

on her window sill. So, it could cool off, and then

went to take a bath." And when she went back to check

on it, it was gone." In its place was a note warning

her not to bake another and to just drop out of

the contest." Sammy began

"Oh wow." Cookie interrupted

"Oh wow, is right. Before we left we asked her

for a list of the names of those who were in

the contest with her." Tommy added

"Why?" Daisy asked

"To see if any of them also had their pies stolen.

and was replaced with a note."

Tommy answered her

"Good idea. So, let's see the list." Cookie smiled

Sammy took out a piece of paper from his back

pocket. And handed it to her. Which contained five

names:

The owner of the travel agency Mr. Starfish

Rocky Shores vet Dr. Bones

Cindy Jellyfish a local high school student

Oliver Wolf the local baker

And last but not least was

Miss Whale the local dean scout leader

"Okay, we only have a few days before the contest

that doesn't give us a lot of time. So, let's divide

the list and meet back at the clubhouse in about

two hours." And compare notes." Cookie told them

"It's a shame that Miss Horse won't be in the contest this

year. I'm really going to miss testing her pie."

Vicky said as they were walking out of Cookie's backyard

"Who said that she was dropping out? She told

us that she wasn't going to let some bozo stop her."

She was going to rebake her pie as soon as we left!"

Tommy laughed

Chapter 2:

Later that day they were gathered inside their

clubhouse exchanging notes

"Okay, here's what we found out. The good doctor

was operating at the time of the crime." Sammy,

checked with his nurse to confirm his story."

Also, Mr. Wolf is dropping out of the contest."

Tommy began

"He is? Why?" Daisy asked

"It seems that he got the same note. At first, he

played it off as a joke but when his pie explored

in his face." He freaked. According to him, he believes

that they switched his flour with explosion power."

Tommy finished explaining

"Humm, that sounds a bit fishy. How can they

switch them without him noticing?"

Cookie frowned

"To us too. So, we asked him about it and he explained

that halfway through making his pie. He ran out

of cherries and ran out to the store to buy some more."

But instead of just crossing him off the list. We

put a question mark next to his name."

Tommy added

"So, how did you guys do?" Sammy asked them

"Well, it looks like all of them got the same

note. According to Mr. Starfish's assistant, he's out

of town until next week. So, we crossed him off

the list." Cindy told us that she was at the movies

with her friends. But she could've made that up."

Cookie replied

"And what about Miss Whale?" Tommy asked

"Oh, she was off with her dean group. So, we crossed

her off." Vicky answered him

"So, it looks like it's between Cindy and Mr. Wolf,"

Daisy added

"Yeah, but which one?" Tommy frowned

Cookie thought about that question for a few minutes

suddenly an idea popped into her head

"I've to go and check on something. I'll see you

guys later." She blurted out. Then ran out of the

clubhouse before any of the gang could ask her where

she was going

Chapter 3:

A few days later she called Vicky and let her

know. That she figured out who stole Miss Horse's

pie

"I just need to check on one more thing before I

can prove it. I need you to call the others and

tell them to meet me by the front gate." So, I can

update you guys before the contest starts.

Thanks!"

The day of the bake it seemed like the whole town

was there. Waiting for the judges to announce the

winner

"Excuse me, may I've your attention please!"

Cookie yelled out. "A few days ago Miss Horse hired

my friends and me to find out not only who stole her pie.

but left a threatening note to drop out of the contest."

And I'm happy to announce that we solved the case

it was Mr. Wolf!"

"What? Young pup, I'm afraid that you're very much

mistaken." Mr. Wolf snorted

"I don't think so. you, yourself admitted to my friend

Tommy and Sammy. That the reason your pie explored

was because your flour was replaced with explosive power

When you were away at the store shopping."

Cookie began. "I found your story a bit strange so I asked

the store manager if they've seen you come in."

And she told me no."

"That doesn't prove anything. Maybe, she wasn't

working that day or I was there after her shift

ended." Mr. Wolf interrupted

"Maybe, but I highly doubt it. Just admit it Mr. Wolf

you made up that dumb story." And threaten

the others to drop out so you could win the prize

money." Cookie answered him

Feeling the whole town shameful glares and confused

looks at him. Mr. Wolf broke down and confessed

"Okay, okay, she's right it was me. But I never

meant to I just wanted to scare the others like you

said." Things aren't doing so well at the bakery and

the money from the prize would've sure come in

handy in paying some of the bills."

Mr. Wolf sobbed

"I'm sorry about your situation Mr. Wolf. But you're

no longer welcome in this contest." Please

remove your pie off the judges' table."

Mrs. Stable ordered

Chapter 4:

A few minutes later she announced the winner

of the contest Miss Horse. Soon after the judges

praised Cookie and her friends for doing

such a good job in solving the case. Miss Horse

was so happy that she offered them the prize money

as a reward. But they turned her down

"Well, I insist on giving you kids some kind of

reward." She told them

"Well, if you insist I can think of something that

you can give us. That we'd be very happy with."

Tommy giggled

"What?" Miss Horse asked

"A big slice of your winning pumpkin pie!"

He laughed
